Jordan Valley Community Health Center got the nod for a roughly $2 million grant.
U.S. Sen Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, yesterday announced that Advocates for a Healthy Community Inc., aka Jordan Valley Community Health Center, was among 29 Missouri community health centers to receive $27.7 million in coronavirus response grants, according to a news release.
The funds are earmarked for Jordan Valley and other community health centers to meet staffing needs and care for COVID-19 patients.
“Community health centers are often the first place people go to get health care treatment quickly and close to home,” Blunt said in the release. “Right now, clinics in Missouri are testing for coronavirus, providing telehealth services and treating patients who are fighting this disease."
The funding is provided through the Department of Health and Human Services. Blunt said community health centers received $2.1 million from the first coronavirus response bill passed by Congress.
Ozark Tri-County Health Care Consortium, in Neosho, and Douglas County Public Health Services Group Inc., in Ava, also received grants of $1.1 million and $755,465, respectively, in the latest funding round, according to the release.
BluCurrent Credit Union held a June 21 grand opening at an office building it renovated at 4520 S. National Ave.; Ozark Mountain Gymnastics changed ownership; and a Branson theater property made way for a new entertainment business with the opening of Star Concert Hall.
