Springfield-Greene County Health Department officials yesterday announced the fourth local case of the new coronavirus.

The fourth confirmed patient in Greene County was in contact with an international traveler who tested positive for the respiratory virus, according to a news release. The Associated Press reports 16 cases in Missouri as of this morning.

Officials previously said three other cases in Greene County were travel related. The first – announced by Gov. Mike Parson on March 12 – involved an individual in their 20s who had traveled to Austria.

Further identifying information on the fourth patient was not disclosed by the Health Department, in order "to protect the patient’s right to privacy," according to the release.

Cases have now been confirmed in all 50 states, with West Virginia announcing its first positive test on Tuesday. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data from this morning show 7,038 cases in the United States and 97 deaths.
