The Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. continued its COVID-19 Response and Recovery grant giving Thursday, with $83,000 awarded to seven nonprofits.

Nearly half of the funds, $40,000, went to Jordan Valley Community Health Center for its Help the Helpers project. It’ll provide behavioral health support for COVID-19 first responders, according to a news release.

This marked the fourth round of grants CFO has issued in as many weeks.

The other nonprofits that received grants Thursday are:
• Cape Girardeau Public School Foundation, $10,000 to support summer food services for students;
• Osage Prairie YMCA, 10,000 to support equipment needs for the children’s feeding program at the Nevada facility in Vernon County;
• St. Susanne’s Food Pantry, $10,000 to repair a large walk-in freezer used for storage in Mount Vernon;
• Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association, $5,000 to support work with foster, adoptive and kinship families;
• Texas County Food Pantry, $5,000 to support its thrift store expenses; and
• Aurora High School Youth Empowerment Project, $3,000 to provide food and supply baskets for low-income families, senior citizens, veterans and immunocompromised residents.

A first-time grant via Pitt Technology Group also was part of Thursday’s announcement. Pitt Technology is providing work valued at $14,250 to the Drew Lewis Foundation Inc. through the COVID-19 Agency Technology Assistance Grant program. Funds are earmarked to support cabling and wireless infrastructure at the foundation’s home at The Fairbanks, 1126 N. Broadway Ave.

CFO first announced the Pitt Technology grant April 17, for which $150,000 in services and equipment are slated to be provided to nonprofits weekly until labor availability and funds have been exhausted.

With the new round of grants, CFO has awarded nearly $1.4 million for pandemic-related needs, according to the release.
