Project description: A building to house indoor playing fields is being developed at the Betty & Bobby Allison Sports Town in northwest Springfield adjacent to Deer Lake Golf Course. A metal building, located on the 105-acre site, will contain two artificial turf soccer fields, four multipurpose basketball/volleyball courts, a food court, conference rooms and a common area. Outdoors, the plan calls for eight natural and four artificial turf soccer fields. The building originally was scheduled for completion in late spring, but officials say materials and staffing shortages factored into the delay.
