Description: In April 2023, voters approved a $220 million bond issue to fund school improvements and projects across the Springfield Public Schools district, including a new facility for Reed Academy. The project includes the demolition of the existing school, completed in November 2023, and reconstruction on the same site for a 128,900-square-foot middle school, project officials say. The building will house a typical SPS middle school program with the addition of an immersive fine arts program to include band, orchestra, choir, art, dance, theater and media broadcasting, clustered around a central multipurpose auditorium and safe room.
