Description: Dedicated to the growth and education of the profession, this new office will be home to classrooms, offices and a union hall for Local 178, the Springfield area’s Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. The building’s form was derived from the torque of a pipe wrench, creating two areas – one for education and one for administration, design officials said. The separation of these functions also provided an opportunity for a covered outdoor patio. The exterior has natural wood, glass and black metal.
