Description: In August 2022, Republic residents voted to renew two sales taxes to double the size of the city’s aquatic center, according to project officials. Terraces were designed into the hillside to create rental areas, patios and lounge space along the path from the main pool to the 575-foot-long lazy river. The lazy river will be shielded from street view by a new concession and pool house with a pergola area for additional seating. The 3-acre expansion also includes new stormwater management facilities, including drain inlets, underground piping and overland drainage swales that will move stormwater to a 14,000-cubic-foot detention basin.
