Breaking Barriers with Skills and Talent

Working in a male dominated industry for the past 20 years has truly been a challenge. However, with challenge comes change and opportunity.

Over the years, there have been many professional leaders that have influenced my work ethic, as well as my leadership style. However, I think everyone’s style changes over time as you gain more experience. One thing that hasn’t changed is making sure I listen more than I lecture. Leadership is really about listening. Listening in the end communicates that you care.

My client base is very diverse. It includes business owners, individuals, retirees, nonprofits and qualified retirement plans. However, there is a commonality between them all. They expect honesty, integrity and transparency. Leading without these qualities falls short.

Not every day is rosy on Wall Street or in a cyclical business like finance. Passion gets you through the difficult days and motivates you to embrace constant change.

Women coming up in the ranks are feeling more comfortable in their own skin and that truly allows them to highlight their natural talent and skills. Morgan Stanley has made a commitment to elevate women in the firm in to more leadership roles. I feel privileged to have the support and the resources of a first class wealth management firm that is breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for women to succeed.
