Pearson-Kelly Technology hires finance director

Posted online

Springfield managed information technology services firm Pearson-Kelly Technology has a new director of finance on board.

Tyson Johns, who brings 11 years of industry experience to the position, was hired in April, according to a news release issued on Tuesday.

"We’d been keeping an eye out for a director of finance for a while, but couldn’t find the exact right fit,” said Chelsey Bode, CEO and owner of Pearson-Kelly Technology, in the release. “Getting Tyson on our team was a no-brainer. He worked in our industry, knows our business and fits our culture."

Johns previously worked for nearly eight years in leadership roles at Corporate Business Systems, and then as regional president of SumnerOne, which acquired the firm, according to his LinkedIn profile. He most recently served a seven-month stint as chief financial officer for Anything Possible Brands.

The hiring of Johns at Pearson-Kelly marks a reunion with Lee Flood, the company's president.

“I worked with Tyson at Corporate Business Systems and never thought I’d get the opportunity to work with him again,” Flood said in the release. “I’m excited to get another opportunity to learn from him.”

Flood was appointed as Pearson-Kelly’s president in March, according to past reporting. Bode last year purchased the remaining stake in the business she didn't already own from her father, Mike Kelly.
