The Missouri State University Foundation set another fundraising record.
In fiscal 2022, which ended June 30, the foundation brought in roughly $32 million, according to a news release. That's up from the previous record of $25.8 million set in fiscal 2021.
“I am in awe of what we can accomplish when the community of Missouri State supporters gather together,” MSU President Clif Smart said in the release. “Gifts like these provide greater access to higher education, improve opportunities for students and faculty, and allow us to dream big of what the future of MSU should be.”
Donations announced during fiscal 2022 include $5.5 million from Great Southern Bank for the naming rights of the former JQH Arena. The gift renamed the arena to Great Southern Bank Arena, according to past reporting.
Gifts additionally went toward creating student scholarships, renovating and building facilities, and supporting faculty, according to the release. During fiscal 2022, nearly 19,000 alumni and other university benefactors contributed funds to the school.
