Bank of America reports better-than-expected quarterly results

Bank of America topped analysts' expectations for its first-quarter results.

Adjusted earnings per share were 83 cents, ahead of analysts' predictions of 76 cents per share.

Analysts also were looking for $25.5 billion in revenue. The company reported revenue of roughly $26 billion.
