Whataburger restaurant planned in Branson

Posted online

A Whataburger restaurant is being planned in Branson near U.S. Highway 65.

The Branson Board of Aldermen last night gave unanimous approval to a request for a vacation of a sewer easement at 600 W. Main St. The board meeting was livestreamed on the city's YouTube page.

"The intent of this property is the development of the Whataburger restaurant with a drive-thru," said Jennifer Luna-Thompson, Branson city planner, at the board meeting.

The board's agenda notes indicate the existing sewer easement at the property is no longer needed. The property, located east of the Highway 65 and Main Street interchange, is currently vacant and located across the street from a Chick-fil-A eatery.

The proposal was made by Lee Engineering & Associates LLC on behalf of Brett Roubal of Delta Development LLC, according to the board's agenda.

Whataburger has been in expansion mode locally in recent years. The third Springfield restaurant opened at 401 N. Eastgate Ave. in October 2023, and Whataburger also has restaurants in Ozark and Republic, according to past reporting.
