The Missouri Department of Revenue is launching a request for proposal process for the contract of the license office in south Springfield.
Bids for the South Springfield License Office, 319-P E. Battlefield Road in Battlefield Plaza, will be accepted Oct. 11-24, according to a news release.
"The Missouri Department of Revenue, through the Office of Administration, is posting an RFP for the South Springfield License Office contract, since the current contract is close to expiring," state officials said in the release.
The license office currently is operated by Elle Management LLC, according to DOR.mo.gov. The St. Louis-area business operates eight license offices in the state, according to its website.
One license office location in Springfield has recently been the source of contention.
Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, which previously operated the Glenstone License Office at 1002 S. Glenstone Ave. for 13 years, lost the contract earlier this year to CGB Holdings LLC, whose registered agent is former BCFO Executive Director Crystal Webster, according to past reporting. BCFO has filed suit against the DOR, alleging irregularities in the bidding process, collusion among vendors and undue influence on the DOR selection process.
