The St. Louis Cardinals conducted layoffs as the team faces the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision impacted more than two dozen employees, about a dozen of which were part of the team's business operations.
“That covers a lot of different departments, but mostly in the sales and servicing and operations areas, which have been very quiet because of what’s going on,” Cardinals President Bill DeWitt said.
