Six senators call for MoDOT chief's removal

Six Republican state senators are calling for the removal of leadership at the Missouri Department of Transportation.

A letter penned to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, which oversees MoDOT, states MoDOT's director, Patrick McKenna, and deputy director, Ed Hassinger, should "either resign or be fired."

At issue is funding MoDOT is trying to use to increase pay for its employees. The senators say the money approved by the legislature was meant for roads and bridges.
