Bolivar's Southwest Baptist University is replacing its longtime food service contractor.
The university inked a "multiyear contract" with Riverside, California-based Provider Food Contract Service for undisclosed financial terms, said Charlotte Marsch, the school's director of marketing and communications. SBU's previous contract with Columbia-based Fresh Ideas Food Service Management LLC lasted for around 15 years, she said.
“Provider will be a key partner with SBU as we transform the entire campus experience for our students,” SBU President Rick Melson said in a news release. “The company has a proven record of providing student-first campus dining experiences and is a great missional fit for our university."
Provider Food Contract Service is slated to introduce its small-plates concept, such as tapas, to Mellers Dining Commons at SBU, along with multiple dining options across campus.
Renovations and new technology are scheduled to be introduced at on-campus dining locations as the contract begins June 1, according to the release. More extensive renovations are planned in the future.
