Republic has a new city attorney following an executive search process.
Megan McCullough, city prosecutor, stepped into the city attorney role on Dec. 20, according to a news release. She now serves in both positions.
McCullough, who started as city prosecutor in March, exited her role as a senior attorney at Springfield law firm Foland, Wickens, Roper, Hofer & Crawford PC with her expanded role in Republic, said Allyssa Dudley, spokesperson for the city. McCullough worked with the law firm since January 2019.
“I have had the privilege of working as the city’s prosecuting attorney since March and am very excited to be a full-time member of the team here in Republic,” McCullough said in the release. “The innovation and growth of this city is a testament to the skilled and dedicated city employees and members of this community."
As city attorney, she succeeds Scott Ison, who resigned earlier this year, said Dudley.
A safe room and classroom addition at Willard Central Elementary School will be used by the music, arts and athletic programs for a district that had 4,536 students last year, according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education figures, but school officials say enrollment is projected to grow.
