Report: Springfield one of most sustainable cities

A new report puts Springfield among the country's most sustainable cities.

The Queen City ranks No. 104 on the list by LawnStarter, a lawn care and landscaping company that also conducts market research on various topics. The report ranks the 200 largest U.S. cities based on policy, sustainable development, pollution, transportation and food production.

Out of a possible 100 points, Springfield had an overall score of 45. The city's pollution rank is No. 5, transportation rank is No. 91, food production rank is No. 105, sustainable development rank is No. 112 and policy rank is No. 183.

Two other Missouri cities were on the list: St. Louis, No. 27, and Kansas City, No. 86. San Francisco tops the nationwide list.
