Relics Antique Mall LLC is shuttering its Mount Vernon store.
Dec. 20 is the last day for the antique mall at 1001 E. Daniel Drive in the city west of Springfield, according to a newsletter issued to customers yesterday.
The reason for the closure was not stated, and owner Beverly Robb could not be reached for comment by deadline.
Relics is holding a sale for its remaining inventory, including 200 pieces of antique American and European furniture, at the Mount Vernon antique mall, according to the newsletter.
Relics entered the southwest Missouri market with the 2009 purchase of Nana’s Antique Mall in Mount Vernon, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. By 2010, the Relics brand expanded to what would become the flagship store in Springfield.
The Springfield store, the company’s only other location, operates at 2015 W. Battlefield Road.
Mercy Springfield Communities relocated a clinic; San Clemente, California-based law firm Gilson Daub Inc. expanded to the Springfield market; and a second video gaming center for Contender eSports Springfield LLC opened in the Queen City.
