The Reeds Spring R-IV School District broke ground this week on a 125-acre park.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Nov. 7 for Wolf Pack Park, according to a news release. The site is behind Reeds Spring Middle School.
“This park will serve as a linchpin for mental well-being, offering both a haven for quiet reflection and a hub for community connection,” said Cody Hirschi, district superintendent, in the release. “It will enhance community cohesion, acting as a natural gathering place to strengthen the bonds between us.”
Wolf Pack Park plans call for walking and biking trails, an accessible playground, picnic area, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and a disc golf course. The district-developed park would be open for public use.
Portions of the park are slated for completion in summer 2024, according to the release.
The park is funded through the district's $40 million bond issue that was approved by voters in 2022. The bond issue also is going toward a Reeds Spring Primary School renovation and the Table Rock Career Center.
