Prime Inc. announced today that Pedigree Truck & Trailer Sales, the exclusive dealer for Prime Inc.'s used fleet of commercial trucks and trailers, is set to open a $7.9 million, 11,887-square-foot flagship dealership at 2705 E. Diamond St. in early October. The new facility replaces Pedigree's current operations at 2700 N. Packer Rd.
Pedigree is owned by New Prime Inc., according to Missouri secretary of state records. Prime officials said in a news release that the dealership will be the first “purpose-built home” in the company's history.
"Drivers and owner-operators are who we serve, and we built this dealership around their comfort, their time and a buying experience that reflects what they put into this work every day,” said Prime founder and CEO Robert Low in the release.
The 11,887-square-foot facility is built around how drivers shop and wait, Prime officials said in the release. Features include a two-bay indoor showroom; dedicated customer consultation areas; an in-house finance center; and a drivers’ lounge that includes an entertainment center, charging stations, a refreshment area, driver showers and a merchandise area.
Outside, the property includes display spaces for 107 trucks and trailers, according to the release, with hundreds more spaces on the adjoining Prime Inc. property where incoming equipment is prepared for sale.
The project’s general contractor is Killian Construction Co., and architect is GHN Architects Engineers, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Pedigree is the only dealer selling Prime Inc.'s used commercial trucks and trailers, officials said in the release. It has sold nearly 35,000 trucks and trailers and counts more than $1.7 billion in lifetime sales.
Pedigree operates four dealerships nationwide – its Springfield headquarters plus locations in Minooka, Illinois; Pittston, Pennsylvania; and Salt Lake City, Utah; with dealerships under construction in Atlanta, as well as a replacement building in Pittston.
