Parson appoints locals to state board, commission

Gov. Mike Parson yesterday announced the appointment of two local residents to a state board and a commission.

Brad Weaver, of Springfield, was appointed to the State Banking Board and Savings and Loan Board, and Randall Walker, of Shell Knob, was selected for the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission, according to a news release.

Weaver, senior vice president and chief lending officer for Systematic Savings Bank, joins a board that's responsible for the consideration of appeals from decisions made by the Missouri Division of Finance commissioner. The five-member board – which includes Bolivar businessperson Thane Kifer – additionally approves new branches or the relocation of banking centers, according to its website.

Walker has owned United Appraisal Group since 1991. The seven-member commission he was appointed to regulates real estate appraisers in accordance with federal and state laws, rules and policies, according to its website.

The term lengths for the State Banking Board and Savings and Loan Board and Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission are six and three years, respectively.
