Paramount scraps sale of Simon & Schuster to Penguin

Paramount Global has ditched plans to sell Simon & Schuster to Penguin Random House, owned by German media group Bertelsmann.

The deal was valued at $2.2 billion.

A judge in October ruled the deal could reduce competition in the publishing market.
