Ozark School District fills superintendent's former role

The Ozark School District Board of Education has filled the role previously held by Lori Wilson, who was appointed as superintendent in December.

The Ozark Board of Education voted at a special meeting on March 4 to hire Robert Hedgecorth as executive director of finance and business operations, according to a news release. The finance position became available upon the promotion of Wilson, who had been interim superintendent and chief financial officer.

"The continued commitment to academic excellence and the facility improvements from recent bond projects make it an exciting time to become a Tiger," Hedgecorth said in the release. "I eagerly anticipate collaborating with this team to maximize our resources and propel our students toward continued success and greatness."

Hedgecorth, who is scheduled to start July 1 in Ozark, is currently executive director of support services for the Smithville School District north of Kansas City.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Hedgecorth,” Wilson said in the release. “We believe that he aligns closely to the district's mission and vision of being an innovative district while providing high-quality education for each student's future-readiness. This position will propel our district toward continued success."
