The Ozark Mountain Daredevils this morning announced the hometown band's farewell tour.

The tour, called When It Shines, kicks off in March and is scheduled to run through late 2025, according to a news release.

"When It Shines is not just a tour, it's a heartfelt farewell to our amazing fans who've supported us throughout the years," said John Dillon and Supe Granda, the band's founders, in a joint statement provided in the release. "This tour is our way of saying thank you and celebrating the incredible journey we've had together."

Dwight Glenn, the band’s manager, said via email that the Daredevils have performed on more than 30 tours. With When It Shines, the first show is scheduled March 23 in Topeka, Kansas, with the last shows slated to be held in November 2025, he said.

"We will be announcing them as we confirm and get the go-ahead from the venues," Glenn said of the over 20 shows that are planned this year.

After the farewell tour, the band intends to continue to record.

The Daredevils have been creating music for five decades, with hits including "If You Wanna Get to Heaven" and "Jackie Blue," according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

The rock and country band also includes members Ruell Chappell, Molly Healey, Ron Gremp, Dave Painter, Bill Jones, Nick Sibley and Kelly Brown, according to past reporting.
