O'Reilly Automotive opens distribution center in Mexico

Posted online

Springfield-based O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) has opened a distribution center in Mexico.

The company announced in a news release yesterday the launch of the roughly 370,000-square-foot facility in Guadalajara. The cost of the distribution center was not disclosed.

O'Reilly Automotive has had a presence in Mexico since 2019, when it purchased Mayasa Auto Parts and its 21 ORMA-branded parts stores. The Springfield company now has more than 40 stores in Mexico.

"The two companies had such similar stories. Both began as family-owned and operated businesses, with similar cultures that value honesty and excellent customer service," said Chip Carlson, O’Reilly Automotive vice president of international business development, in the release. "Our growth is part of a commitment to advance that culture as we build out our store network in Mexico, providing the broadest product coverage and most helpful team members in the industry.”

Earlier this year, O'Reilly Automotive expanded into Puerto Rico with its first distribution center and two retail stores, according to past reporting.
