NFL commentator James Brown has signed on to speak at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout.
Brown, host of "The NFL Today" on CBS, is scheduled to present at the college's Leonard B. and Edith Gittinger Fall Convocation on Oct. 12, according to a news release.
“We are thrilled to hear from JB, and we know his commitment to the Lord and to character development will encourage our students, staff and faculty,” said Sue Head, C of O’s vice president for cultural affairs and dean of character development, in the release. “Through The Keeter Center for Character Education, the annual fall convocation provides an opportunity for the college to bring nationally recognized leaders to our campus to share their life stories with our students as a way to emphasize the importance of good character.”
Brown also is an ordained minister and speaks at churches and conferences nationwide, the release said.
At previous convocations, C of O has presented such speakers as Mike Rowe, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Steve Forbes, Bill O’Reilly and Dave Ramsey.
Adrianna Norris became a first-time business owner with the opening of Finley River Chiropractic; PaPPo’s Pizzeria & Pub launched its newest location; and Huey Magoo’s opened its second store in the Ozarks.
