An SRC Holdings Corp. venture that launched this year is in hiring mode.
Genie Recon, a partnership between SRC and Bothell, Washington-based aerial lift manufacturer Genie, intends to add 30 jobs to its workforce by year's end, according to a Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce news release. The Springfield chamber will facilitate a ribbon-cutting as SRC hosts an open house at 4 p.m. on July 15.
Currently employing 60 people within 136,000 square feet at 2065 E. Pythian St., Genie Recon is on track to reach at least 90 employees by the end of 2026. Hiring includes planning, production, maintenance, engineering and warehouse roles.
“This is a great example of what happens when a homegrown company like SRC keeps reinvesting in our region,” said Jonas Arjes, senior vice president of economic development at the Springfield chamber, in the release. “Genie Recon strengthens our advanced remanufacturing base and builds on a long history of that sector in our community. SRC has a long track record of building businesses that last, and this new partnership with Genie Lifts is the next chapter of that story.”
Genie Recon currently reconditions the Genie S-65 and S-85 telescopic boom lifts. The company plans to expand to cover additional models.
