A new brunch concept announced this summer by the owners of Farmers Gastropub has opened for business in southeast Springfield.
Today is the official opening day for JW’s Kitchen at 2144 E. Republic Road, Ste. B101, in Farmers Park, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.
"JW’s is named after our grandmothers, Janet, Joyce, Wanda and Willie," owners Andy and Misty Hampshire wrote in a Facebook post yesterday. "They were our inspiration for this restaurant, and we have filled the menu with dishes they used to make for us that we grew up eating."
Menu items include biscuits and gravy, waffles and egg dishes, as well as brunch cocktails.
JW’s Kitchen takes over the space previously operated by Progress, which closed earlier this year. JW'S Kitchen was announced in July.
The Hampshires purchased Farmers Gastropub in 2015, according to past reporting.
