Missouri's unemployment rate ticked up in November.
Last month, the seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 2.7%, up from 2.6% in October, according to a news release from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.
The state's nonfarm payroll ranks increased by 8,200 jobs in November compared with October.
Industries with job increases last month included mining, logging and construction, up 2,700, and manufacturing, up 1,500. Partially offsetting those figures were dips in industries such as trade, transportation and utilities, down 1,300, and information, down 400, according to the release.
While total employment rose in November, so too did the number of people who are unemployed, leading to both the unemployment rate and payroll rank figures increasing, according to MERIC.
