Dan Wichmer, Legal Services of Southern Missouri executive director and former Springfield city attorney, has been appointed to a judgeship.
Gov. Mike Parson chose Wichmer for a circuit judge role in the 31st Judicial Circuit, according to a news release. He succeeds Judge Jason Brown, who retired in December after serving as circuit judge since 2015.
Wichmer was one of three finalists for the role selected by the 31st Circuit Judicial Commission, according to a separate news release last month from Courts.Mo.gov.
Wichmer could not be reached immediately for comment by deadline on leadership next steps at LSSM.
