Loehr Health Center owner Dr. Steven Loehr purchased his mentor's practice in Bolivar.
The financial terms of the acquisition of Dr. Gerard Porter's Chiropractic Health & Wellness were undisclosed in a news release. The deal closed July 1, said spokesperson Brittany Zachary, noting the number of employees coming to Loehr Health Center is unknown at this time.
“After sustaining an injury playing basketball in high school for the Weaubleau Tigers, Dr. Porter helped me recover fully from my injury without surgery or prescription medications. He inspired me to be a chiropractor and is a big part of why Loehr Health Center exists today," Loehr said in the release. "It is an honor and a privilege to continue serving his patients and building upon the legacy he has established."
The former Chiropractic Health & Wellness has been temporarily closed for renovations and training before it becomes a new Bolivar clinic for Loehr Health Center. A reopening date had not yet been set, Zachary said.
Loehr Health Center last year was an honoree for Springfield Business Journal's Economic Impact Awards. The company reported $2.3 million in companywide revenue, with more than 40 employees.
In Springfield, Loehr Health Center early last year relocated to 13,000 square feet in Farmers Park, filling vacancies left by multiple companies, including Staxx and Jellybeans.
