“Skills that we really need right now are more what we call the soft skills,” says Mailyn Jeffries, Human Resources Director for Greene County Missouri. Jeffries says many employers are seeking employees who can have a face-to-face conversation with someone and are able to write a professional email. She says if employers see a candidate with leadership abilities and strong communication skills, they are willing to provide needed technical training.
