An executive at Springfield-based Hiland Dairy Foods Co. LLC has been honored with an annual dairy award that recognizes leaders in the industry.
Greg Helbig, director of operations for Hiland Dairy, on Jan. 26 received the Dairy Leadership Award from the Missouri Dairy Hall of Honors, according to a news release.
"We are immensely proud to see Greg's remarkable achievements recognized with the Dairy Leadership Award," said Rick Beaman, president of Hiland Dairy, in the release. "His dedication, expertise and passion for excellence have been instrumental in driving the success of our organization and the broader dairy community. This honor is a testament to his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing the dairy industry."
A nearly 40-year veteran of the dairy industry, Helbig started his career with Hiland Dairy in 1985 in its quality assurance lab. As director of operations, he oversees Hiland's 23 manufacturing facilities.
Helbig also has been active with organizations such as the Missouri State Milk Board, the QCS Purchasing Group and the International Dairy Foods Association.
The first southwest Missouri location of EarthWise Pet, a national chain of pet supply stores, opened; Grey Oak Investments LLC relocated; and Hot Bowl by Everyday Thai LLC got its start.
