The U.S. Small Business Administration is making available low-interest federal disaster loans to a handful of Missouri counties, including Greene, impacted by severe weather.
The loans are available for small businesses and private nonprofits to help cover losses caused by tornadoes, straight-line winds, severe storms, large hail and flooding, according to a news release.
"The July 15 SBA disaster declaration makes the loans available in Christian, Dade, Dallas, Gree2ne, Lawrence, Polk and Webster counties. Interest rates are as low as 4% for businesses, 3.62% for nonprofits and 2.87% for homeowners and renters, with terms up to 30 years," officials said in the release.
The Greene County Public Safety Center will serve as the disaster loan outreach center on July 21.
The SBA declaration makes the agency's Economic Injury Disaster Loan program available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries and private nonprofits, according to the release.
The SBA additionally announced low-interest loans of up to $2 million would be available in Greene County and others for severe weather that occurred April 23-28.
