Great Southern Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: GSBC) has opened its newest branch in the Queen City.
Today is opening day for the branch at 1615 W. Sunshine St., according to a news release and a Facebook post from Great Southern Bank.
The location is the first of a new Great Southern Bank concept called the Express Center, designed for drive-up customer activity, according to past reporting.
"The Express Center is a commitment to convenience," Great Southern Bank officials said in the release, citing "a seamless blend of virtual technology and a personal touch."
The Express Center has four interactive teller machine lanes. At the Express branch, video remote tellers are available to assist with bank processes, and ATM service is available, as well.
American Contracting Enterprise served as general contractor for the 3,800-square-foot Express Center designed by Hood-Rich Inc., according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. An existing branch was razed to make way for the new concept. The project price was undisclosed.
This year, for the 38th season, the Springfield Ballet Inc. will perform “The Nutcracker” on the proscenium stage of the Landers Theatre, with six performances set Dec. 15-18.
