Good Samaritan names COO

Posted online

Good Samaritan Boys Ranch has a new executive in place.

Matt Moncado was promoted to chief operating officer of the Brighton-based nonprofit, according to a news release. An employee of the organization since 2009, Moncado most recently worked as a therapist and director of Good Samaritan's Sexually Abusive Youth, or SAY, program.

“Naming a COO is vital as Good Samaritan Boys Ranch continues to grow, adds programs and broadens its outreach," said Casey Wray, president and CEO, in the release. "Matt is the perfect professional to oversee the operations, including outpatient and stabilization services.”

Moncado in 2016 was named to Springfield Business Journal's annual class of 40 Under 40. His career has involved serving on the Governor’s Task Force for Problem Youth with Sexual Behaviors.

Moncado's promotion represents at least the third executive leadership change at Good Samaritan since early last year, when Wray took on the president and CEO position. At that time, longtime President and CEO Kevin Killian became the first executive director of The Good Samaritan Boys Ranch Foundation, according to past reporting.

Good Samaritan ranked No. 7 on SBJ's list this year of the area's largest nonprofits. The organization reported 150 employees and a 2021 operating budget of $10 million. Good Samaritan focuses on at-risk, abused or neglected children.
