Project description: The congregation of the Battlefield Assembly of God decided in summer 2025 to come under the leadership and management of Central Assembly of God in Springfield, according to the congregation’s website, with the launch of services for Central Battlefield forthcoming this fall. Work is underway to expand and improve the location, a spokesperson of construction manager DeWitt & Associates stated, noting the project will more than double the capacity of the existing sanctuary and provide infrastructure and cosmetic improvements to the workshop space. The project also aims to increase parking and improve both traffic flow and drainage on the site. Battlefield is a growing community, with a 5.6% population increase to 6,361 residents from 2020 to 2025, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures. The project includes 4,400 square feet of renovation to the existing lobby and a 3,000-square-foot addition to the sanctuary.
