Project description: The second location for 4 by 4 Brewing Co. is taking shape adjacent to Fremont Hills Country Club. Co-owner Derek Shimeall said it’s designed to create a laid-back atmosphere for guests, inside and out. “One of the main things people are going to notice is a large, open production area where the taproom and production are close and intimate,” he said. “They’ll be able to see, smell and taste what we’re doing.” The taproom will open to a 70-foot covered patio through eight floor-to-ceiling garage doors, and there are 3 acres of open space with yard games, tables and chairs, said project architect Abbye Torgerson-Bobbett. “It’s going to be a very family-friendly atmosphere,” she said. Shimeall said the brewpub plans to host private events, business meetings and musical acts.
