Sports merchandise retailer Fanatics Inc. is planning to enter the livestreamed shopping market.
The company intends to host video events led by digital content creators and influencers who would focus on trading cards. The content initially would center on new boxes of trading cards being opened live and then offered to viewers for sale.
Nick Bell, who has experience as product leader at Alphabet Inc., has been hired to lead the Fanatics Live operation.
