Ethan Forhetz's exit triggers promotions at KY3

Posted online

The exit of KY3 Inc. anchor Ethan Forhetz means promotions for a pair of his colleagues, the news network announced.

Morning anchor Paul Adler is slated to take over for Forhetz as evening anchor, according to a news report from the network. Adler is being succeeded by Chad Plein, KY3's sports director.

“I’m thrilled to be taking on the challenge of maintaining the standard of excellence on the evening shows," Adler said in the report.

KY3 recently posted a job listing for a new sports director. Plein said via email the organization also is seeking a new weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter to succeed Sara Forhetz, Ethan's wife.

The Forhetzes earlier this month announced they were leaving the television station to join Convoy of Hope. They're slated to make their exit in January, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
