Electric truck maker Lordstown Motors is going public through a merger.
The company plans to combine with special purpose acquisition company DiamondPeak Holdings Corp., which already is a public firm. The deal is an example of a less traditional method of going public by merger instead of selling shares through an initial public offering.
DiamondPeak plans to change its name to Lordstown Motors and its ticker symbol to RIDE after the merger closes.
