The Darr Family Foundation today announced $113,115 in grants to 14 nonprofits.
The funding is part of the organization’s fall grant cycle, according to a news release.
The grants, by amount, are:
• $15,000, The Kitchen Inc. to support its Rare Breed program;
• $15,000, The Learning Tree to provide extra funds for a preschool it operates in Anniston, Alabama, for children with special medical and educational needs;
• $10,000, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks to help children with incarcerated parents;
• $10,000, Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield to provide homework help, job skills training and financial education for minors;
• $10,000, Council of Churches of the Ozarks to support its Ambassadors for Children program;
• $10,000, Junior Achievement in Southwest Missouri to pay for a project manager position in charge of recruiting volunteers and evaluating training and programs;
• $8,415, Children’s Smile Center to renovate a sterilization center at its Ozark clinic;
• $7,200, Diaper Bank of the Ozarks to support a program specialist position to expand the nonprofit’s mission of providing diapers for children;
• $7,000, Lighthouse Child and Family Development Center to fund a family support worker position charged with providing case management for enrolled families;
• $7,000, Life360 Community Services to offer two preschool scholarships;
• $4,000, Children’s Haven of Southwest Missouri to provide shelter for children and assist in crisis resolution for parents;
• $4,000, Ozarks Literacy Council to support its preliteracy program and recruit volunteers;
• $3,000, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Missouri to fund a teen specialist employee who would work with homeless youth who have been victims of abuse or neglect; and
• $2,500, Foundation for Springfield Public Schools to support an anti-bullying program at Pipkin Middle School.
