Posted online

High-end homes with combined asking prices of $16.5 million hit the market in March, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 23 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That compares with 24 in February and 19 in January.

A home designed by famed Springfield architect Don Russell was the highest-priced residence of March. The home, 2523 S. Marlan Ave., has an asking price of more than $1.2 million and is located off Sunset Street, east of Glenstone Avenue.

During March, the average sale price for homes in the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors' service area was $293,514, up from $286,097 a year earlier. Realtors in the GSBOR service area sold 461 units during March, compared with 483 in the same month of 2023.

The latest data from the Missouri Realtors association shows an 8.2% increase in the average residential sale price statewide to $283,147, according to a news release.
