June was the second-best month of the year for high-end home listings in Springfield.
For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 18 single-family homes within city limits that hit the market last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. The June number was second only to the 20 residences listed in March.
The owners of the real estate collectively are seeking $16.1 million in asking prices, according to data from the Southern Missouri Regional MLS. A $1.7 million home was the highest-priced residence in June; the northeast Springfield home sits on nearly 10 acres and includes a pool and creek access on the property.
Home prices elsewhere in the Springfield area and state are below the $500,000 mark set by SBJ for the Curb Appeal series, according to the industry organization.
The Greater Springfield Board of Realtors Inc.'s latest data show an average sale price of $231,353 in April for residences in its coverage area.
Statewide, the average price of homes sold in May was $261,341, an increase from $214,764 in the same month of 2020, according to a news release from the Missouri Realtors group.
Moseley’s Discount Office Products was purchased; Side Chick opened in Branson; and the Springfield franchise store of NoBaked Cookie Dough changed ownership.
