Crumbl Cookies pushes back Springfield opening a 2nd time

Crumbl Cookies is getting closer to opening in the Queen City after news of the chain's planned entry first was reported a year ago.

Becca Bevan, a spokesperson for the Utah-based gourmet cookie chain, said the company's planned store at 2415 N. Glenstone Ave. is now expected to open in late spring or early summer. The local franchisees, Trevor and Porter Curtis, initially targeted a spring 2023 opening, then pushed it back to year’s end before the latest delay.

"That is subject to change depending on construction times and supply chain," Bevan said via email.

There currently are no building permits for the cookie shop on file with the city of Springfield's public portal.

Trevor Curtis in February 2023 told Springfield Business Journal that a May or June opening was planned last year. When the opening was later pushed back to the end of 2023, the new year did not bring with it the cookie shop to town.

Curtis has said the store would be located in the center of a retail building at Glenstone and Kearney Street that also houses Echelon Coffee and an AT&T store.

Curtis also has said a separate franchisee is planning a Crumbl store on the south side near Target. The company’s website does not currently list any Springfield locations.

Curtis also has Crumbl franchises in the Kansas City area.

Crumbl Cookies has over 200 flavors of cookies, including milk chocolate chip, churro, blueberry muffin and Key lime pie, as well as a rotating menu, according to past reporting.
