The CoxHealth Board of Directors named its next chairman.
Chuck Chalender took on the role Oct. 24, succeeding Dennis Heim, a partner with Heim, Young & Associates Inc. Chalender, an agent for American Family Insurance, is a third-generation family member to serve as CoxHealth’s board chair, according to a news release.
“This is especially noteworthy news in light of the continuation of his family’s legacy. We’re honored and grateful that serving the community through CoxHealth has been a priority for so many members of this family,” CoxHealth President and CEO Steve Edwards said in the release.
“I was at CoxHealth when Chuck’s father, Charlie, was board chair. He was a kind, fun and very thoughtful leader who guided us through especially challenging times. I know he would be extremely proud of Chuck in this role as board chair.”
CoxHealth spokeswoman Kaitlyn McConnell said the health care system’s board chairs serve two-year terms.
Officers for the 30-member board of directors include Chalender, Rob Fulp, Hal Higdon, Edwards and Jake McWay, CoxHealth’s chief financial officer.
