CoxHealth appoints Fulp to board chair

Posted online

CoxHealth has appointed former banker Rob Fulp to chair of its board of directors.

Fulp, Missouri State University's part-time executive in residence, was installed as the top CoxHealth board member during its Oct. 28 meeting, according to a news release. He succeeds Chuck Chalender, who served as chair since October 2020.

"Rob has been part of our board for many years and has contributed a great deal through his leadership and service, both at CoxHealth and in our community," said Steve Edwards, the health care system's president and CEO, in the release. "His role as chair will amplify his great skill and leadership through our organization.”

Fulp joined MSU earlier this year after retiring as CEO of Springfield First Community Bank in January, according to past reporting.

At the Oct. 28 board meeting, new board members Bob Cox, Dr. Nana Gaisie, Dr. Daphne LeMon and Dr. Susan Graves were sworn in, according to the release. Dr. Patricia Dix, Dr. James Gibson, Jan Harris, Bob McDowell and Dr. David Zolfaghari exited the board after their terms expired.

Other board leaders for the 2021-22 fiscal year are Hal Higdon, first vice chair; Sally Hargis, second vice chair; and Jefferson Tynes, third vice chair.
