The city of Springfield has issued a request for qualifications to shore up its database of qualified engineering and design firms for a bevy of upcoming projects.
Companies are being asked to submit a statement of qualifications through end of business on April 7 for transportation, traffic stormwater and facility capital improvement projects, according to a news release.
“The city generally puts out an RFQ like this every few years to keep our list of qualified firms and services updated,” said Chris Dunnaway, principal stormwater engineer for the city, in the release. “As smaller-scale projects like land surveying, landscaping, stormwater and traffic projects are identified, a selection team will evaluate and score the statements of qualifications on file to select a qualified firm for a specific project.”
The city's Department of Public Works is seeking firms for upcoming projects that include roadway improvements, intersections and signals, bridges, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, land surveys and public involvement and outreach.
A safe room and classroom addition at Willard Central Elementary School will be used by the music, arts and athletic programs for a district that had 4,536 students last year, according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education figures, but school officials say enrollment is projected to grow.
