Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. received a $150,000 donation to support its Let's Get to Work Fund.
With the anonymous gift, CFO now has distributed $515,000 in grants to assist with transportation-related barriers to employment, according to a news release.
The $150,000 donation is being split into five $30,000 grants for:
• Community Partnership of the Ozarks Inc., to help individuals in Greene County and 13 other counties;
• Drew Lewis Foundation Inc., to assist individuals in its economic self-sufficiency RISE program;
• Ozarks Area Community Action Corp., to provide transportation assistance to individuals in Greene County and eight other counties;
• Springfield Business Development Corp., the economic development subsidiary of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, to help current employees or job seekers of businesses in United Way of the Ozarks’ 14-county service area; and
• United Way of the Ozarks, to assist job seekers in the Missouri Job Center’s Ozark Region.
Through the program, employees and job seekers can receive funding for gas cards and auto repairs, among other transportation needs. The Let's Get to Work initiative has been supported financially by David and Stacey O’Reilly, the O’Reilly Charity Golf Classic Fund, Bass Pro Shops, the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation and other donors, according to the release.
